Ask an Expert - Forum > Finding a paper that works for me

I am an artist making works on paper using acrylic ink. My work has started to sell (for a high price) and I want to use top quality paper but I love working on inexpensive "sulphite" paper I get from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Sax-Sulphite-Drawing-Inches-Extra-White/dp/B003U6SH38/ref=sr_1_5?crid=29Z448BPDS5Y1&keywords=sulphite+paper+90+lb&qid=1663204624&sprefix=90+lb.+paper%2Caps%2C90&sr=8-5

While I think this is archival, I feel I want to work on better paper. I have tried Arches watercolor paper, Grain Satine, Hot Pressed, but I don't like the way my paint sits on it and it is not the luminous bright white that I love. Do you have any suggestions for paper I might try? I work 9 x 12" but am willing to cut paper down if I find a product that works.

We have many papers that will meet your needs that are both archival and durable. The most popular drawing and mixed media paper we produce is Stonehenge. It comes in a variety of colors and formats, including 9x12 pads. Stonehenge is 92lb/250gsm, which is about the same weight as the paper you're buying on Amazon. It is also 100% cotton.

Here is a link to the Stonehenge papers:

We also offer a drawing sample pack containing over 20 different papers. This would be an excellent way for you to test a variety of papers with your specific application(s). You can learn more about this sampler here:
