So without warning Canson seems to have discontinued the Baryta Prestige. I'm really curious the reason, do they plan to bring it back in the future? Was it just too expensive to continue to make?

Canson Infinity will discontinue the current Baryta Prestige and replace it with a virtually identical paper called Baryta Prestige II. The paper will have the same color gamut, surface and reproduction quality as the original. However, the Prestige II will have the added benefit of being OBA-free. Fluctuations in the coating supply forced Canson to source new components for the coatings. In this case, the change will be an improvement while maintaining all the characteristics of the original that everyone loved. The new Baryta Prestige II will be available in May 2022.
