Ask an Expert - Forum > Paper for poster for a letterpress studio

Hello! I am part of a letterpress studio where we have a cylinder press and a platen press. We are looking for a good overall paper for printing posters and other things. It needs to be somewhat inexpensive so that we can have a good amount of it on hand as well as we want to encourage learning and experimentation. We would like it to perform well with both metal and wood type. 11 x 17 sheet size in a a natural/creme/pearl/off-white color would be best. A card stock weight and have cotton in it? Would appreciate the help narrowing all the choices down.

I would recommend:
Stonehenge - 100% cotton coming in a variety of colors. This paper is made in with a vellum texture and comes in a 250gsm weight. This is a very strong paper being able to handle multiple layers and still remain stable.

Lenox 100- 100% cotton coming in white, which is a little warmer. This paper would work great with letterpress at 250gsm. This paper provides excellent dimensional stability and the sublet texture makes it great for printing along with letterpress.

Legion Bamboo - 90% bamboo 10% cotton coming in two variations of white in 265gsm and 530gsm. This sheet is environmentally friendly and has a lovely textured surface, many people have used it not only for letterpress but printing as well.
