Ask an Expert - Forum > Smoothing out creases in Stonehenge Oil Paper?

Hi I went to my local art store to pick up some arches oil paper but they introduced me to Stonehenge’s oil paper so I’m trying it out instead. I love the texture but when I brought it home I noticed there were a lot of those annoying little dimples, creases from the daily in-store handling. Is there a way to stretch it like watercolor paper or some other method to smooth the creases out? I’m really eager to try this stuff!

I have asked a similar question with no reply (my guess is that Legion just doesn't know yet, this being a new product) but I did get a reply from Stephen Bauman, an artist who has tested this paper pretty extensively and he said that he did stretch it (wet, staple around a panel, allow to dry) with good results, and he didn't feel that it diminished it's usefulness for oil painting.

Hope this helps!
