Ask an Expert - Forum > Mounting Finished Fine Art: Heavy Weight Yupo onto Wood

Hi! I have a completed work on 11x14 Heavy weight yupo (alcohol ink and oil paint). I’d like to mount it on a cradled panel, for my upcoming exhibition, but have never done that before and am terrified!

I like ampersand cradled boards… Do I need to get a primed and gesso-ed board? Or will smooth primed do? What adhesive do you recommend? And any specific techniques to ensure a smooth, clean, permanent hold?

Thank you!

Hello! We recently published a report on adhesives that pair well with YUPO and various surfaces. You can read and download the report here:

You can also search though our forum to see what other artists have shared about mounting YUPO to wood panels.

Here's a link to our forum - and use search words "mounting yupo":

We'd also recommend to test prior to using the adhesive on your final artwork
